Who are we?

Sarah Oxendine, LCMHC

I’m Sarah Oxendine, and I’m a licensed counselor in South Carolina and North Carolina. I like to provide a counseling atmosphere that is professional, but down to earth. I recognize and appreciate that when you open up about your life challenges, this may be the first time you have verbalized things you’ve held trapped inside. As a therapist, I will ensure that you feel accepted as you open your life up to me.
My specialties are working with clients who struggle with depression, anxiety, traumatic events, attention-related issues, relationship issues, and stress from big life changes. I provide interactive counseling sessions, give feedback, and occasionally ask you to do homework outside the session. I use an eclectic blend of therapy styles, but I am a Solution-Focused counselor, and love to challenge clients to explore and find options even when life choices seem limited.
One of my goals is to improve the way you see and feel about the world, and fine tune your resiliency skills to tackle life’s problems. I have extensive training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and this has taught me to explore negative thought patterns to help you rewire your brain to think more positively. In addition, I teach valuable life skills from Dialectic Behavioral Therapy to help you live more in the current moment, improve interpersonal relationships, learn tools for distress-tolerance, and regulate your emotions.
I teach skills because my goal is to help you develop the confidence to independently tackle life challenges. I don’t want to just be your sounding board. I want to be a therapist who pushes you to become a resilient version of yourself that you love.
I accept self-pay at $110 per session in North Carolina & South Carolina.
I also accept the following insurances in South Carolina:  Aetna, Cigna and Evernorth, Tricare, and Blue Cross Blue Shield.
I offer a free 15-minute consultation!
